The matters HPT Group declines.
We believe transparency includes being explicit about the work we do not undertake. The boundaries set out on this page have, on occasion, cost the firm engagements; they are positions we will continue to hold.
No commissions, no kickbacks
We don't take payment from banks, formation agents, developers or licensors. If we recommend a provider, it is because they're right for your matter, not because they pay us.
No opaque structures
We don't design structures whose only feature is hiding from a regulator. Every structure we build is designed to be read out loud to HMRC, the FCA, your auditor and your banker.
No shortcuts on KYC
We don't onboard clients who can't or won't document the source of their funds. We will not lose a 30-year reputation for a single engagement.
No matters we can't bank
If we cannot place the proposed structure with a real bank, we will tell you in week one, not week twelve.
No promises we can't put in writing
Every promise we make is in the engagement letter. If a director won't put it in writing, it isn't a promise.
No sanctioned jurisdictions, ever
We do not work with sanctioned individuals, entities or jurisdictions, under any sanctions regime that touches our clients or our firm.
A firm that's still here in 2046. Not 2026.
Every refusal above protects something more valuable than the lost engagement: the firm's ability to keep operating for our existing clients in five, ten, twenty years. That is the only sustainable competitive advantage in this industry.
